"Racija": Poem by Zoran Grahovac regarding the mass murders in Novy Sad, January 1942 The mass murders carried out by the Hungarians who occupied the area lasted for three days, 21-23 January 1942. During the course of those three days, 1,300 people were murdered, including 800 Jews and 300 Serbians. The poem was submitted to Hadar Vittenberg at the Memorial Ceremony held in Novy Sad, 23 January 2005, and transferred to the Ambassadress. At the request of the Ambassadress, it was translated into English and a copy was sent to Yad Vashem.
