Childhood in a traditional home; attends a cheder and a Polish elementary school; active in the Betar movement; German occupation ensues; Soviet invasion ensues in 1939; witness escapes to Brest and thence to Minsk; back to Brest; on to Ludman; arrested due to Zionist activity; deported to a labor camp in Rom, Soviet Union; transferred to a camp for craftspersons; released in June 1943; reaches Zhitomir and Chełm; discharged from the Polish Army in 1946; moves to Lublin and then to Breslau; reestablishes life after the war; immigrates to Israel in 1957.
