Childhood in Mukacevo; Hebrew school founded and managed by his father; life under Hungarian ruling in 1938; they received a deportation order according to which the whole family was to leave Hungary within 30 days because they didn't have a Hungarian nationality; at the same time his father got a recruitment order for the labor service within the Hungarian army in 1940;his father's service in the labour service during 9 months; return of his father and deportation of the family to the Garan detention camp, Slovakia in 1941; ( because they didn't have a Hungarian nationality); stay in the camp for a few months; they obtain certificates of aliya to Israel in 1941; moving to Budapest, Hungary; moving to Bucuresti, Romania. moving to Constanta in 1941; aliya to Israel via Istanbul, Turkey, Syria and Lebanon in 1941.
