Her father immigrated from Galicia; her father's occupation - management of the family grocery store; good relations with the German saleswomen; the closing of the grocery store in 1938; her father's deportation to Poland; transfer of the witness with Kindertransport to her relatives who lived in Belgium, in January 1939; illegal border crossing into Belgium by two of her brothers in 1940; attempted escape to France with the beginning of the German occupation; deportation of her mother to Aachen camp; marched to a transport in 1941; capture of her brothers and their deportation to Brussels in September 1942; the witness goes into hiding with her relatives; premature birth of her aunt’s baby in a hospital; hospitalization of the baby; uncle’s arrest and deportation to Auschwitz; transfer of the witness into hiding with a Christian family for a fee; being informed against; escape from her hiding place; work in a monastery until liberation; learning of the death of family members; joining Bnei Akiva; illegal aliya to Eretz Israel on the ship “The Hebrew Soldier” in 1946.
