Life before the war; offspring of a traditional family; Soviet occupation ensues in 1940; nationalization of family business; Soviets retreat and German occupation ensues in June 1941; ghetto established and extended family joins witness in one apartment; wearing the yellow star; attending a vocational school; Aktionen; surrender of valuables and books; unsuccessful attempt to smuggle sister to the "Aryan" side; deportation from the ghetto in July 1944; parting from mother and sister in the Stutthof camp; taken to Landsberg (Dachau); life in the camp; hunger; the front closes in and the camp is evacuated on April 25, 1945; bombardments; liberation by American forces on April 29, 1945; back to Kaunas; reestablishing life after the war; immigration to Israel in 1969; adjustment to life in Israel.
