Father manages a farm in the countryside; witness attends school with her twin sister in a convent; moves to grandfather's home in Veszprem; German occupation in 1944; wears the yellow star; deported to the Szekesfehervar ghetto; deported to Auschwitz; passes selection in the camp and is separated together with her sister from the rest of the family; placed in the twins' barracks; undergoes blood tests and medical experiments; sister's situation deteriorates; liberated by Red Army forces in January 1945; sister dies in the camp after liberation; life in transit camps in Katowice, Czernowitz, and Slutsk; back to Budapest in July 1945; joins Youth Aliyah; immigration to Eretz Israel aboard the Hagana in 1946; rehabilitation and adjustment to life in Eretz Israel.
