In hiding in the attic of a Serbian acquaintance; informed on; deportation of his mother to labor in Germany with her daughter who was born in 1938, while using a false identity; witness is abandoned at the entrance of a home; taken care of by [people from] the social welfare service; fostered by Serbian children's author, Desa Tomic; escape of Desa and her husband to Valjevo after being informed on for hiding a Jewish boy, 1942; escape to a smaller city.
Revelation of his Jewish origin at the age of 14; meets his mother at the age of 16; his attitude toward his mother; request to have Desa Tomic and her husband recognized as Righteous Among the Nations.
