Annexation to Hungary, 1940; arrest for food smuggling and escape to his mother's family in Svalava, Slovakia; escape to Debrecen and from there to his uncle's house, 1943; move to Budapest;
in hiding in a sawmill; receiving Aryan documents from the Chairman of the Judenrat; escape to Subotica and in hiding for a short period; return home to Viseul de Sus, April 1944; stay in the Viseul de Sus Ghetto, for a few days, and deportation to Birkenau for a few days, May 1944; transfer to the Erlenbusch labor camp; labor in unloading train cars and disinfecting the dead; death march to Theresienstadt, winter 1945; receiving treatment by the Red Cross; liberation, May 1945.
