Testimony of Yisrael Bak, born in Viseul de Sus, Romania, 1924, regarding his experiences in Svalava, in Subotica with Aryan documents; the Viseul de Sus Ghetto, Erlenbusch, on a death march and more Childhood in an ultra-Orthodox home. Annexation to Hungary, 1940; arrest for food smuggling and escape to his mother's family in Svalava, Slovakia; escape to Debrecen and from there to his uncle's house, 1943; move to Budapest; in hiding in a sawmill; receiving Aryan documents from the Chairman of the Judenrat; escape to Subotica and in hiding for a short period; return home to Viseul de Sus, April 1944; stay in the Viseul de Sus Ghetto, for a few days, and deportation to Birkenau for a few days, May 1944; transfer to the Erlenbusch labor camp; labor in unloading train cars and disinfecting the dead; death march to Theresienstadt, winter 1945; receiving treatment by the Red Cross; liberation, May 1945. Unsuccessful aliya attempt to Eretz Israel and detention in Cyprus, 1947; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1948.
