Testimony of Lidia Lili (Simsovits) Fischer, born in Sighet, Maramures, Romania, 1929, regarding her experiences in the Satu Mare Ghetto, Auschwitz, Geppersdorf, on a death march and in Georgenthal Childhood in Sighet, Maramures. Hungarian occupation, 1940; anti-Jewish legislation; move to Satu Mare for studies; deportation of people lacking citizenship, 1941; closing of the Jewish school; restrictions in movement; yellow badge; confiscation of property; partial curfew; deportation to the Satu Mare Ghetto; then to Auschwitz, after approximately three weeks; repeated abuse; mutual help; hunger; Yom Kippur; transfer to Geppersdorf for labor; behavior of the Germans; death march, February 1945; murder of the weak; mutual help in Georgenthal; labor in a factory; physical and emotional abuse; treatment by the local population; liberation by the Red Army, 09 May 1945. Life after the war, aliya to Israel, 1959.
