Oppression of Dutch Jews from 1940 on; concentrating the Jewish population of Amsterdam in a theatre building without basic provisions; separating children from parents; establishing a children's home; witness placed in charge of the children's safety; deportation of Jews to Westerbork; children smuggled out and placed with Dutch families with the help of the Dutch resistance; bribing the Germans with alcohol; persuading parents to place their children in the children's home to save their lives; working with the manager of the children's home, Henriëtte Pimentel; saving the children until 1943; meeting her future husband; marrying; deportation together with the children in transports in 1943; rescue.
