Outbreak of the war, 1939; escape to relatives in Warsaw; stay for approximately one month in Warsaw under air-raids; return home; departure to a nearby village as a cow herder; residence in the village, spring-winter 1940; deportation to the Warsaw Ghetto; ghetto life for about one and a half years; sneaking out of the ghetto repeatedly to obtain food and smuggling it back into the ghetto; hunger; living conditions; unplanned escape from the ghetto on an electric tram, summer 1942; arrival at a forest; labor as a cow herder for the forester until the place burns down; wanderings among the farms in the vicinity; life with a birth certificate using the name of a cow herder he had known in the past; life until liberation, early 1945.
Move to DP camps in Germany; aliya to Eretz Israel, summer 1946; life in a kibbutz through Youth Aliyah; combat in the War of Independence; life in Israel.
