Testimony of Avraham Warshawsky, born in Lodz, Poland, 1933, regarding his experiences in Lodz, Warsaw and on the Aryan side while using a false identity His childhood in a well-to-do, secular family including his family's attachment to Jewish tradition and Zionism; attends a Jewish kindergarten. Outbreak of the war, 1939; deportation [of Jews] to forced labor; move to Warsaw, December 1939; deportation to the Warsaw Ghetto, January 1940; move to his aunt's apartment in coordination with the Judenrat; Warsaw Ghetto life including overcrowding; move to the Aryan side using a false identity, in exchange for bribery, 1943; visits in a church; visit in a Polish school; fear of being informed on; travels on trains or move to a hiding place, during "Aktions"; receipt of information regarding what is happening in Treblinka from escapees [from the camp]; evacuation of the Warsaw Ghetto; liquidation of the ghetto during the Warsaw Polish Uprising; suppression of the uprising, by the Germans; escape to a village; life in the village including agricultural labor and help from farmers; liberation by the Red Army. Move back to Lodz; aliya to Israel, 1948.
