German Army occupation [of Yugoslavia], 1941; draft of his father into the military; detention [of his father] as a POW in a POW camp in Osnabruck, Germany; escape of the witness, with his mother, to the Italian occupied zone with help from a non-Jewish acquaintance; illegally crosses the border at Mostar while using forged documents; transfer by the authorities from Split to the Jewish community in the Korchula area; murder of 14 Jews as punishment for actions by the partisans; liberation of the area by the partisans, October 1943; agreement between Tito and the Allied forces; transfer of refugees from Yugoslavia to Italy; transfer from a Yugoslavian refugee camp to El Shatt camp in the Port Said area in Egypt.
Move back to Yugoslavia, 1945; reunion with his father; aliya to Israel, 1948.
