German Army occupation of Lodz, September 1939; life under German occupation including acts of abuse on the street, burning of the synagogues, burning of holy books and the confiscation of his family's shop; murder of his grandfather and grandmother on the street; deportation to the Lodz Ghetto; activities of the Judenrat; activities of the Jewish police; Lodz Ghetto life including labor distributing vegetables, and hunger and mortality; move to aliya training in Marysin; dismantling of the aliya training, approximately one year later; deportation of Jews to Chelmo, early 1942; acts of abuse by the Ukrainians; deportation to Auschwitz, August 1943 [should be: August 1944]; arrival to Birkenau; camp life including acts of abuse and acts of suicide; transfer to Kaufering, approximately two months later; camp life including labor in construction and beatings, cold and hunger; receives help from an SS officer; transfer to Kaufering [?], approximately two months later; camp life including labor in construction; death march to Dachau including acts of abuse by the Ukrainian guards and murder [of inmates], April 1945; liberation by the US Army, 08 May 1945. Move to Bergen-Belsen DP camp; aliya to Israel, February 1949.
