Her childhood; her grandfather serves as the Sephardi rabbi of Sarajevo; arrival of Jewish refugees from Czechoslovakia en route to Eretz Israel.
Outbreak of the war, April 1941; deportation of her father to Jasenovac camp; escape of her family to Mostar; deportation by the Italian Army to detention on a island near Dubrovnik; life on the island including cultural activities; move on fishing boats farther inland [?] with help from Tito's partisans, September 1943; life in villages in Croatia; giving of tutoring lessons to children in the village in exchange for food; move to a DP camp under the protection of the British Army; camp life in Camppsrid [?] near Bari; move to Molfetta, an Italian village, until the end of the war, February 1944.
Emigration to the United States, 1951.
