Outbreak of the war including air-raids, September 1939; escape of her family members from Opacionka; deportation on a freight train to Siberia; transfer on trucks until the Irkutsk forest; labor by the adults in exchange for food ration coupons; her father's illness; transfer by train to Uzbekistan; life in Pakhtakor including hunger and typhus disease; hospitalization in a hospital; death of her father; life in a Polish orphanage; preparations for aliya to Eretz Israel; move by train to Teheran with the “Teheran Children” group; visit by Zipora Shertok; move by ship to Karachi; move to Egypt; meets Jewish Brigade soldiers on the train to Atlit, 1943; convalescence in the Kfar Hasidim religious youth village; meets Henrietta Szold; grouping of the children according to their religious affiliation.
