German Army occupation of Amsterdam, May 1940; life under German occupation including the revocation of rights; his father's labor sewing boots for the German Army; receipt of a certificate as an essential worker [his father?]; deportation of his brother to Mauthausen; receives notice regarding the death of his brother, September 1941; receives an offer of a hiding place by the Dutch underground; refusal by his parents to go in hiding; payment for a hiding place in Beltrum for the witness and his brother; deportation of his parents to Auschwitz, 1943; in hiding while hidden along with other Jews on the farm of the Colenbrander family (later recognized as Righteous Among the Nations) in Varsseveld. Aliya to Eretz Israel, February 1946.
