Life under German occupation including the termination of studies and restrictions; deportation to the Budapest Ghetto; obtains food for his family; wanderings outside the ghetto, without wearing a yellow badge; draft of his father to a labor battalion; capture of his mother and his aunt; deportation of his mother and his aunt; takes care of his younger brother and baby sister; move of the children to a protected house; fascists break into the house; in hiding in a bread sack with his brother and baby sister; move to a hiding place in a former monastery; search for food on the streets; rescue by the Soviets.
Receives medical treatment by the Red Cross; death of his baby sister; life with Christian families in a village; return of his mother from Bergen-Belsen; illegal aliya attempt to Eretz Israel on the "Knesset Israel" ship; detention in Cyprus; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1947.
