Testimony of Adam Avraham Asatanovitz, born in Ostrowiec, Poland, 1919, regarding his experiences in Ostrowiec, Przemysl, Lwow, Saratov and other places His childhood in a religious-Zionist family, including attending a Polish school. Outbreak of the war, 1939; German Army occupation of Ostrowiec; life under German occupation, for approximately two months; offer by a friend to join his family during their escape in a vehicle, late October 1939; arrival to Przemysl; arrival to Lwow; life during rental in the home of a local Jewish family; registration on the list of people interested to return to Poland; sudden deportation by train to a camp in the Soviet Union, before Pesach [April], 1940; labor logging trees, for approximately one month; obtains a permit for easier labor in the camp; outbreak of the war between Germany and the Soviet Union, 1941; release from the camp, summer 1941; move to Saratov with a friend; life in Saratov until 1942; enlists in the Anders Army; transfer to Central Asia; desertion due to antisemitism. Move back to Poland, late 1945; reunion with his mother and sister; life in western Poland until 1957; aliya to Israel with his family.
