Outbreak of the war, September 1939; move to Utrecht, the Netherlands, with his mother and sister; German Army occupation of the Netherlands, May 1940; hospitalization of his mother due to her illness; meeting with members of the Dutch underground; induction of bacteria by injection, by a physician in the underground, in order to prevent the deportation of his family to Westerbork; in hiding in Zeist; separation from his mother and sister, August 1942; move of his sister to a home in Zeist due to hardships in adapting; his mother is in hiding; move to a Dutch family in Friesland for three months, due to being informed on, summer 1944; Gestapo men break into the home, 1945; liberation, May 1945.
