Outbreak of the war; air-raids; decision to escape due to the hunger; move by train until Baranowicze; crosses the border; move to Zlatoust after Pesach (April) 1940; life in Zlatoust including hunger and work as a metalworker; work in a sewing workshop. Move back to Poland; joins a Poalei Zion "kibbutz" in Krakow; illegal aliya attempt to Eretz Israel; detention in Cyprus, 1947; legal aliya to Israel, 1949; life in Israel.
