Romanian Army occupation of Briceni, 1941; deportation to Transnistria via Secureni; murder of deported Jews in Secureni; move back to the Bessarabia area; murder of Jews by the Germans on the Dniester River; transfer of the deportees to the Vartejeni Ghetto; Vartejeni Ghetto life, including a dysentery epidemic, for several weeks; transfer to the Bershad Ghetto, before Rosh Hashana; meets Soviets; help from the Soviets to the deportees who survived the march; Bershad Ghetto life including the smuggle of food, September 1941-March 1944; finds a hiding place in order to evade deportation to forced labor in Tulchin and Nikolayev; execution of the ghetto's Jews, early 1944; liberation, 12 March 1944. Life after the war; aliya to Israel, 05 September 1991.
