Testimony of Benjamin Bernard Lehrmann, born in Breslau, Germany, 1928, regarding his experiences in The Hague, Amsterdam, Westerbork, Bergen-Belsen, Trebitz and other places Move to The Hague, 1932; death of his father; witness and his siblings are placed in dormitories. Separation between the Jewish and the Christian pupils after the German Army occupation of the Netherlands; life under German occupation including decree to wear a yellow badge, detentions and deportations; loss of contact with his mother and siblings; transfer of the [residents of his] dormitory to Amsterdam; deportation order given to the children in his dormitory; help from the underground to move to a hiding place; in hiding with his sister in a village; informed on; detention; deportation to Westerbork; labor on agricultural farms; transfer to a Zionist group intended for exchange with German citizens in Eretz Israel; transfer to Bergen-Belsen, 1943; camp life including hunger and mortality; punishment by solitary confinement; deportation on a train; corpses of the people who died are thrown [off the train] en route; liberation by the Red Army in Trebitz. Move back to the Netherlands; legal aliya to Eretz Israel, 1946; life in Israel.
