Testimony of Aharon Kaplan, born in Holszany, Poland, 1933, regarding his experiences in Holszany, the Oszmiana Ghetto, Zezmary, the Kaunas Ghetto, in hiding in a forest and in other places German Army occupation of Holszany, 1941; deportation to the Holszany Ghetto; establishment of a Judenrat headed by the rabbi; capture of people for labor; construction of hiding places in the ghetto; transfer to the Oszmiana Ghetto; liquidation of the Oszmiana Ghetto; deportation to Zezmary camp; camp life including labor paving roads; transfer to the Kaunas Ghetto; his parents volunteer for labor logging trees in Koschedaren camp; sneaks into the camp in spite of his age; responsibility for the animals in the camp; coordination of an underground; escape of some of the inmates; "Aktion" against children; rescue of children; contact with Soviet partisans; transfer to Aleksotas camp; decision to escape to the Kozlowaruda forest; death of his mother during the escape; in hiding in a forest with his father and sister; liberation, August 1944. Move back to Poland; aliya to Israel, 1950.
