Testimony of Ester (Klabin) Grobman, born in Kaunas, Lithuania, 1920, regarding her experiences in Kaunas, the Kaunas Ghetto, Aleksotas, Stutthof, on death marches and in other places Her youth in a traditional, Zionist family; participation in a youth movement of the Herzlia organization of the general Zionists; attends a high school; studies in university. Red Army occupation of Kaunas, 1940; life under Soviet occupation including the nationalization of property; German Army occupation of Kaunas, 1941; Kaunas Ghetto life, August 1941-October 1943; death of her grandfather; death of her grandmother; deportation to Aleksotas labor camp; camp life, 28 October 1943-12 July 1944; transfer to Stutthof camp; last meeting with her mother before the witness' transfer to labor camps in open fields; transfer on trains; death marches; transfer to labor camps; life in each camp for a period of two months; survival of the women inmates during the death marches; meets survivors of the ghettos in Lithuania; liberation, 10 April 1945. Move back to Kaunas; life after the war; aliya to Israel, 1991.
