Testimony of Shlomo Zalman Galizer, born in Hotin, Romania, 1919, regarding his experiences in Hotin, Secureni, the Kopaygorod Ghetto, in forests, Sulita and other places Soviet Army occupation of Hotin, 1940. Outbreak of the war; air-raids on Hotin; burning of their home; detention by the Romanians, 1941; deportation to Secureni with his family; Secureni Ghetto life for several months, 1941; crosses the Dniester River; transfer to Kopaygorod via Mogilev; Kopaygorod Ghetto life including forced labor, 1941; death of his father in the ghetto; "Aktions"; rescue from the "Aktions" by a Romanian officer; transfer of the Jews to a forest, 1942; life in the forest for approximately five months; return to Kopaygorod; life in Kopaygorod including typhus disease; liberation by the Red Army, 1944; escape; life in Sulita, Serbia including work, 1944; evades being drafted to the Red Army and receives a release as a result of his deficient medical condition, 1944. Return to Romania; life in Sighisoara including work; aliya to Israel, 1958; life in Israel.
