Testimony of David Kliger, born in Lodz, Poland, 1918 Life in Lodz. Outbreak of the war, 1939; deportation to the Lodz Ghetto; ghetto life, until 1944; deportation to Auschwitz, 22 August 1944; transfer to the Kempf labor camp and the Friedland labor camp together with his brother and his nephew, until 09 May 1945; breaking through the barbed wire fence and escape as part of a group of 500 people; escape to the mountains and from there to Prague, Czechoslovakia. Move to Germany, until 1949; aliya to Israel, 1949; absorption.
