Outbreak of the war; Soviet occupation, 1939; obtains food from the "sick people's kitchen"; German occupation, 1941; atmosphere of fear; sleeping in an attic; draft of girls [using false identities?] to forced labor in Germany; transfer to Berlin; various assignments on the farm and agricultural labor for a farmer who was an SS man; life on the farm including hunger, shortages, cold, brutal treatment and beatings; approach of the Red Army; escape from Berlin on a wagon drawn by donkeys [?]; liberation by the Red Army.
Return to Lodz; life after the war; aliya to Israel, 1956.
