Traditional family; witness becomes deaf when he was 1 year old; his childhood; attends a school for deaf people; life until 1940.
Soviet occupation; outbreak of the war between Germany and the Soviet Union, 1941; deportation to a camp in Marculesti with his parents and brother; transfer to Transnistria; arrival to Obodovka village; life in Obodovka camp including typhus disease, hunger, cold and labor in a corn mill, in exchange for corn flour, and labor in agriculture and digging for part of the time; his father's labor in the office of the commander of the region, where he receives bread portions in the office; liberation by the Red Army, spring 1944.
Return to Cernauti; move to Romania, 1946; move to France; aliya to Eretz Israel, January 1947; life in Israel.
