Occupation of Bialystok; life under Soviet rule; reoccupation by the Germans after the outbreak of the war between the Soviet Union and Germany, 1941; escape to the East on a freight train; shooting and air-raids by the Germans; in hiding and losing property; travel by train; approaching Minsk; burning of the city; extended travel and move to the Mordovkaya area; concentration of the refugees in a large hall; lice and typhus; transfer to Saransk after time spent in a kolkhoz; draft of her father into the Red Army; arrival of wounded soldiers and German POWs in the village; reunion with her father after his discharge from the army. Return to Poland, 1946; life in Warsaw and Lodz; aliya to Israel, 1966.
