Testimony of Benjamin Shejman, born in Wilno, Poland, 1937, regarding his experiences as a child in the Vilna Ghetto, in various hiding places; in the Slonim area using a false identity and among the partisans Testimony of the Buzgan family, Benjamin's mother's family; murder of his grandparents in Ponary, 1941; observing the murder while perched on a treetop; paying a bribe in order to extract his aunt from jail; deportation to the Vilna Ghetto; birth of his sister, 1941; his mother and baby sister being smuggled outside of the ghetto; escape from the ghetto; murder of the guards, a German and an Ukrainian, by his father; in hiding in ditches; cries of the baby girl; search for hiding places; preparation of forged documents; move to the Slonim area; work of his father as a mechanic in a German camp; move of his family to the Deniska Krasovskaya partisan site; his aunt being responsible for the care of the injured; participation of his father in the fighting; attack against the Germans; hiding together with his brother and sister in a bunker; liberation of Slonim, 1944; draft of his father to the Japanese front; Move to a Jewish center in Lodz, 1946; aliya to Israel, November 1948.
