Childhood, 1941; deportation of his family to Limbourg; house arrest; arrest of his father and sister and their deportation to Auschwitz, 1942; escape of the family to a monastery in Namur with help from the priest, Abbe Andre (later recognized as a Righteous Among the Nations); life in the same monastery, but not as a family; difficulty in changing from a Jewish child to a Christian child; transfer to the village of Fosses approximately six months later; life with the Collin family (who were later recognized as Righteous Among the Nations); emphasis on the attitude of his rescuers, especially the daughter, Madeleine Collin.
