German occupation, 1941; escape of his family from their house; mass murder of Jews in Kamenets Podolski; return to Bessarabia and life in Edineti; deportation on foot with the community; death of his mother en route; deportation to Transnistria; concentration in Zhabokrich; smuggling food into the camp; help from a Ukrainian non-Jew; death of his father from dysentery; rape of his sister; work in an airfield in Tiraspol; liberation by the Red Army. Return home, 1944; escape to Hungary; wanderings among places where Jews are concentrated; joins Beitar; DP camp in Germany; aliya to Israel, 1948.
