Testimony of Yozef Bramson, born in Franeker, the Netherlands, 1934, regarding his experiences in the Westerbork camp, the Vught camp, the Barneveld camp and Bergen-Belsen, and his liberation while on "The Lost Train" in Troebitz Immediate family; his parent's professions; way of life at home; Shabbatot and religious holidays; setting up of a community kibbutz training facility by his father; move to Wildervank; attends a Jewish school. Anti-Jewish legislation and yellow badge; occupation of the Netherlands, May 1940; plan to make aliya to Eretz Israel that is not realized; his father's library and its being entrusted to the priest for safekeeping; deportation of the family to Westerbork by the Dutch police; camp life; transfer to the Vught camp; separation of the children from the parents; religious life in the camps; underground activities of a relative who is caught and murdered; transfer back to Westerbork and from there to Barneveld; Jewish police activity in the camp; conditions in Barneveld; return to Westerbork by truck; deportation of Jews to extermination camps including Auschwitz and Sobibor; transfer to Bergen-Belsen; separation of his father from the family; receiving Red Cross parcels; eating non-kosher food with permission from Dutch rabbis; typhus and hunger in the camp; death of his mother from starvation; arranging of an orphanage in the camp by Rabbi Yehoshua Birnbaum and activities there; his father's activities teaching Torah; getting onto a train and setting out in the direction of Terezin; disappearance of the train and its continuous journey; deaths of people on the train from starvation and typhus; liberation of the Lost Train [aka Lost Transport] in Troebitz by the Red Army, 23 April 1945. Burial of those who perished in a mass grave; return home via Amsterdam; aliya to Israel, 1950.
