Drafting of her father into military service, September 1939; her father's death in battle in northern France; removal from Paris with her brother; heavy air-raids; return to Paris, winter 1940; death of her younger brother, summer 1940; displays of antisemitism; yellow badge; removal from school with her sister by French policemen; deportation with their mother to a police roundup point and from there deportation to Drancy; release (because her mother is a war widow); transfer to Amiens to her father's brother; her mother joins her; lack of knowledge of the village residents that her uncle is Jewish; alteration of German soldiers' uniforms; heavy air-raids on the area; transfer to a nearby village, summer 1944; liberation by the British Army, August 1944.
Return to Paris; joining the Borochov movement; aliya training in southern France; aliya to Eretz Israel on the ship, "Providence", from Marseilles, 1948.
