Deportation to the ghetto, 1941; additional Jews entering the living quarters; hunger; yellow badge; entrustment of her baby sister to a Christian family; escape with her father's brother and his family; chase and shots by Ukrainian policemen; suicide by drowning of four of her uncle's family members; mother's drowning in the river; crossing the river by swimming on her father's back; refusal of a non-Jewish acquaintance to hide the father and daughter; finding refuge in a Christian home; in hiding and escape to the forests during searches; end of the war.
Return to Dubno; unsuccessful attempt to locate her younger sister in an orphanage and in children's homes; attending a Jewish kindergarten; drafting of her father into the Red Army and living with relatives;
move to a different family; release of her father; warning about expected detention of her father; escape to Ulm, Germany; life in a DP camp run by the JDC; aliya to Israel, 1948.
