His parents' home and Jewish life in Mukacevo; attends a general elementary school where the language of instruction is Ukrainian (and afterwards) Russian until 1940.
Drafting of his brother to forced labor, 1940; German occupation, March 1944; yellow badge, March 1944; deportation to the Mukacevo Ghetto, May 1944; transfer to a brick factory and a few days later deportation to Auschwitz-Birkenau by train, June 1944; separation from his parents and sisters, and selection in Auschwitz; transfer to Warsaw to clear away the rubble of the ghetto; death march for five days and travel by train to Dachau, early 1945; labor building bunkers in Feldafing and Muehldorf until May 1945; typhus; return by train in the direction of Dachau; air-raids on the train by the US Army; liberation by the US Army in Dachau, 08 May 1945.
