Escape from Poland to Ukraine, 1939; refusal of her parents to accept Soviet citizenship; exile to Siberia, 1940; life in a camp of shacks on the plains of Siberia; permission to leave Siberia; trip to Kirghizstan, 1942; work in kolkhozes; escape of the family to Frunze; selling of matches in the local market to help the family; hunger and crowding. Return to Lodz, Poland; move to Wroclaw (Breslau); crossing the border into Czechoslovakia after the pogrom in Kielce; move to Austria and Germany; life in DP camps; aliya to Israel, 1949.
