Childhood in Kiev; her parents' Communist activities.
German occupation at the outbreak of the war between the Soviet Union and Germany, 1941; her father is drafted into the Red Army and dies in battle; escape to the Samarkand Uzbekistan area with her mother and sister, 1941; life and work in a Stalin kolkhoz in the Katta Kurgan area; relations with the Uzbeks; move to the city of Katta-Kurgan, apparently in 1943; her mother's marriage to Perlmuter, a Jewish refugee from Poland.
Move to Rzeszow, Poland at the end of the war, 1945, life in an orphanage in Rzeszow with her sister; separation from her mother who was in a DP camp in Austria; transfer via Austria; hospitalization in the Rothschild Hospital in Vienna, 1946; visit of Reuma Weizman; transfer to the orphanage in Rosenheim, Germany, apparently 1947; move to the Admont DP camp in Austria and reunion with her sister with help from Eleanor Roosevelt; reunion with her mother, 1947; move via Naples, Italy, 1949; aliya to Israel, 1949; death of her son-in-law (husband of her oldest daughter) in combat during the Yom Kippur War, 1973.
