Testimony of Elazar Lasar Kloizner Klausner, born in Frankfurt, Germany, 1923, regarding his experiences in Frankfurt before the war, in Calais, Antwerp, France and Switzerland Childhood in a religious home; Hitler's rise to power, 1933; displays of antisemitism before the war; his father's emigration to Antwerp, Belgium; joining his father in Belgium, 1937; escape to Calais, France; return to Antwerp for security reasons. German occupation, 1940; anti-Jewish legislation: yellow badge, travel restrictions, confiscation of property; obtains false documents of a Christian; travel to Paris with a smuggler, October 1942; from Paris to Lyon; from Lyon to the border between France and Switzerland; from there to Montreux, Switzerland; meeting with Yeshiva students; move to Zurich; enlistment in the Swiss police and deportation to a camp for Jews in hiding illegally. Return to Antwerp at the end of the war; reunion with his father who had been in hiding during the war; life in Belgium.
