Soviet occupation, 1940; air-raids; nationalization of his father's farm; entrance of the Romanians Germans[?], 1941; increasing displays of antisemitism; yellow badge; deportation to Transnistria on Simchat Torah (14 October), 1941; march to Manikovka; the cold, hunger, disease; death of his grandmother; assistance from the local priest; escape to Bershad; labor of his father; assistance from the children in the ghetto in collecting food; children's games; appearance of the Soviet partisans and retreat of the Germans; battles near the shelter; liberation on Purim (09 March), 1944. Return home; the move to Bucharest; unsuccessful aliya attemp on the ship "Pan York"; detention in Cyprus; aliya to Israel (the day the Altalena was hit), June 1948; absorption and rehabilitation.
