Persecution of the Jews, 1940; anti-Jewish legislation; expulsion from the high school; attends a Jewish high school; wears a yellow badge; deportation of his sister to Auschwitz, March 1942; smuggling of food to Jewish deportees who are located beneath a railroad station, May-June 1942; receives a permit to remain in Zilina due to his father's work as a government engineer; move to Nitra with his parents due to his father's work, July 1942; life in Nitra; underground activities in the Beitar movement; escape to Zilina, December 1942; life in Zilina; disappearance of friends and acquaintances; relief activities by the Jews' center; outbreak of the Slovak National Uprising, August 1944; life in hiding in a forest; makes escapes to Kalnica in order to obtain food; changes his hiding place; escape to Kalnica; life in Kalnica while hidden by a farmer; liberation by the Red Army, April 1945. Aliya to Israel, 1949.
