Murder of Jews, 1940; imposition of restrictions on the Jews including wearing a yellow badge; curfew hours; restrictions on movement; attacks by fascist youth on Jews on the streets; appropriation of the Jewish community’s building and the Jewish school by German soldiers; studies are held in improvised classrooms; arrival of Bulgarian policemen to his family’s home, March 1943; transfer to detention in a local school along with a group of Jews; robbery of their belongings; release and return to his family’s home; deportation to Somovit, July 1943; life en route; brutality by the Bulgarian policemen; confiscation of belongings; camp life; beatings; contact with villagers; release from the camp, October 1943; return to his family’s home; anti-Jewish legislation; liberation by the Red Army, September 1944.
