Soviet occupation; exile of wealthy Jews to Siberia; Romanian occupation; concentration of the Jews in a square; murder of young people in a common grave; theft of the Jewish property in the homes; murder of his father and older brother; deportation of the Jews to Transnistria; arrival to Mogilev and then to Bershad; death of his mother; Bershad Ghetto life; placed in an orphanage in Balta with approximately 50 orphans; help from the JDC organization; begs in the market place; life in hiding while hidden by a Ukrainian family; end of the war and return to Romania. Life in an orphanage in Bucharest; work in the forgery of documents; detention; move to Hungary; life in an aliya training "kibbutz" in Budapest; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1948.
