Testimony of Chava (Veis) Mordchovitz, born in Soporna, Czechoslovakia, 1935, regarding her experiences in hiding in Hlohovec, Soporna and Hungary Outbreak of the war; unsuccessful attempts to make aliya to Eretz Israel, 1939; move to Hlohovec; life in hiding, alternately in Hlohovec and Soporna; smuggled into Hungary with her brother, 1943; her brother is placed in an orphanage in Budapest; deportation of her brother to Auschwitz, and his murder; German occupation, March 1944; return to Czechoslovakia; identified by the Slovakian police commander; hidden in exchange for a promise to give testimony to his character at the end of the war; liberation by the Red Army.
