Documents from the process in the Regional Courts (Landesgericht) in Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Vienna against members of the HSSPF Lublin: Documentation of the trial, volume 16; Documentation of the investigation against Heirmann Hoefle, held in Klagenfurt Regional Court: Statements by Reinhold Mohrenschildt, 1962 - 1966 Documentation from a trial conducted against Austrian war criminals, most of whom participated in "Aktion Reinhardt": - Investigation against Hermann Hoefle started in Landesgericht Linz (the Linz District Court) in 1947 (Vg8 6771/47); - Main part of the investigation conducted by Landesgericht Salzburg (the Salzburg District Court) from 1956 (11a Vr 1382/56) and Landesgericht Wien (the Vienna District Court) from 1962 (27c Vr 852/62); - Final investigation conducted by Landesgericht Klagenfurt (the Klagenfurt District Court), 1962-1971 (25 Vr 3123/71); - Transfer of the files to the various courts and emendation of the signatures, as well as commencement of various other trials against other Austrian war criminals during the investigation; - Copying of the documents at Landesgericht Klagenfurt and transfer of the copies to Yad Vashem. The overall arrangement of the files includes three kinds of volumes: - General volumes containing general administrational information regarding the trial, indexes and collections; - Appendix volumes containing statements and information from trials dealing with similar cases from Germany, mostly from Hamburg; - Main volumes containing documentation, statements and correspondence from the trial. This file is part of a General Volume; it contains statements of Reinhold Mohrenschildt, born on 8 November 1915, a resident of Schloss Freudenberg, who was a member of the Waffen SS Der Fuehrer Regiment in Lublin. Statement from 09 April 1962: - Claim that he has no knowledge regarding atrocities against Polish or Jewish civilians and that his job in Lublin was dealing with German settlers in the East. In the file: - Request from the Leitender Oberstaatsanwalt (Chief Prosecutor) Hamburg, to examine Reinhold Mohrenschmidt; - Several copies of Nazi documents including: From the Kommandeur der Ordnungspolizei im Distrikt Lublin, Polizeiregiment 25, Regimentsbefehl (Regimental order) No. 37 ( 4 September 1942) (pg. 13-20); Commendation for Hauptmann Busse, for his fight against partisans in Wojslawice, Skierbieszow, Malkow and Tarnawatka; Report on a sports event, mentioning Mortag, Kullmann, Tilly, Richmann and Thormann; A list of officers: Gelsen, Wehrheim, Komler, Klavonn, Fuchs, Muetze, Matojowski, Liebisch, Kranczioch, Mayer, Kaste, Gaumitz, Heusinger and Linken; Information regarding the service of Kurt Klein, Friedrich Wendt, Kurt Lenz, Heinrich Bach, Walter Blamel, Albert Stammler and Erich Pietsch; Information regarding travel documents; Information regarding sanitation; Information regarding the inspection of horses; Order of the day 19/42 stating that the wives of soldiers who do not have children must work; Order of the day 22/42, providing information regarding the service of Wilhelm Blum, Dr. Sickel and Mahnke, who have been assigned responsibility for the transport of Jews and Poles to Lublin, along with Ernst Lerch and Hoefle); Order of the day Nr. 24/1942, providing information regarding the destruction of paintings by Kossak, penalties for driving without a helmet, and concerning the work of Ulbrich, Schneper and Mohrenschildt; Information regarding nomination for decoration 30 November 1940 (pg. 5); Information regarding Lebenslauf Reinhold Mohrenschildt, including a handwritten curriculum vitae by Reinhold Mohrenschildt (pg. 5) Document saying that Lerch is responsible for the Referat fuer Judenangelegenheiten (Department of Jewish Affairs) in Lublin, 15 May 1941. Statement from 18 February 1964 (stenography and typewritten): - Reiteration of the claim that the defendant has no knowledge regarding atrocities against Jewish or Polish civilians; he was responsible for German settlers; - Information concerning his family; - Mention of the fact that he later worked for Maier-Kaibitsch. Statement from 03 March 1964: - Admission that he was in Lublin again in 1942 and 1943, but reiteration of the claim that has no knowledge regarding the murder of Jewish and Polish civilians. Statement from 29 April 1965: - Claim that his work related only to German settlement in the East; denial that he served as the Adjutant of Odilo Globocnik, despite the presentation of Nazi documents, which were shown to him, demonstrating his involvement with Globocnik; repeated claims that he does not know anything. - Document from 29 March 1966 stating that, according to the affidavit of Lothar Hoffmann, Mohrenschildt ordered laborers from a prison to dig mass graves for Jews, November 1943.
