Outbreak of the war; Soviet occupation; deportation of the rich Jews to Siberia; robbery of Jewish property and nationalization of Jewish businesses; escape to Ukraine, June 1941; drafting of her father into the Red Army; arrival in Kamenka; transfer to Kodyma; in hiding in a forest; meets German soldiers; hanging of her father with 14 Jews; transfer to Zavadovka; her mother's escape to Balta; typhus; forced labor; brutal meeting with Red Army soldiers; end of the war. Return to Romania; aliya to Israel, 1973.
