Testimony of Yetty (Ivanier) Burg, born in Cernauti, Romania, 1934, regarding her experiences in Lucavatul de Sus, Mogilev, Stepanki, Skazintsy and other places Life in Cernauti and Lucavatul de Sus; increase in antisemitism, 1937; murder of two of her uncles. Soviet occupation, 1940; nationalization of the family's shop; draft of her father into the Red Army; retreat of the Soviets, Shavuot (June) 1941; riots by nationalist groups; re-occupation by the Romanian Army; looting of furniture in their home; escape and family hides in another house; concentration of all the town's Jews in the synagogue; deportation to Transnistria with all the Jews of Lucavatul de Sus; march from place to place in Bukovina and Bessarabia, for approximately one month; transfer to Mogilev; stay in Mogilev for approximately one week; transfer to Stepanki; life in Stepanki including illness; transfer to Skazintsy; life in Skazintsy including eating grass and flowers due to hunger; deteriorated hygienic conditions; finds her aunt who is living with a Ukrainian family; her family's move in secret to the Ukrainian family; life with the Ukrainian family including work harvesting tobacco; retreat of the Germans; liberation of the area by Soviet partisans; final liberation by the Red Army, March 1944. Return to Cernauti; aliya to Israel, 1949.
