Deportation of his family to Transnistria, 1941; death of his grandmother in the railroad car and throwing of her body out of the car; transfer to Dzhurin; life in Dzhurin including crowded living quarters with ten people to a room; typhus; his mother's hospitalization in isolation; deportation of his father to work for Todt near Odessa; hunger; flogging of a four year old boy by a German soldier.
Return to Cernauti with his mother, 1945; illegally crossing of the border to Romania and reunion with his father; aliya to Israel, 1960.
