Outbreak of the war; attempt to escape to the Soviet Union; shelling; deportation to a labor camp; labor digging trenches; his father and two brothers escape; help from Poles; move to Plonsk; deportation to the Plonsk Ghetto; Plonsk Ghetto life including forced labor paving roads; "Aktions" implemented by the Germans with the cooperation of the Jewish police; deportation of children, families and elderly people to Treblinka [?]; deportation to Auschwitz; life in block number 21 with approximately 1,500 people; physical punishment; labor as a personal valet for a German Kapo; transfer of the luggage and belongings of Jews from Hungary to the Canada Kommando; hunger; barter trade; transfer to Stutthof; transfer to Bergen-Belsen; unsuccessful attempt to bomb the camp; murder of his mother, one day before the liberation; liberation by the British Army. Help from UNRRA to refugees, the former inmates; enlists in the US Army; aliya to Israel, 1949.
